Vicks says it's only for 6 months+ but my friend says that's only right for if you rub it into the skin, but inhaling it from a tissue is OK. Is this true?
You have to do what you feel comfortable doing as a mother as well as, use common sense. Of course I would not place Vicks on a babies nose while they are up and playing. You place it on while they are in bed and it works wonders. Again, I used it with my oldest two and my little baby now. They all lived, use your common sense and best judgment.

Actually the best for a child with inflamed mucus membranes is a cool mist humidifier run less than 6 feet away from them and preferably in a room where you can close the door. I put baby Vicks on my LO's feet, and put socks on, and chest whenever he has the onset of a cold, so when I hear him start coughing. I also saline his nose and use the NoseFreda all the time. I'm not sure if the baby Vicks works or not, but I feel his cold doesn't last as long as it would if I didn't do that.
